Why Cosmetic Acupuncture?
This system of acupuncture not only aims to boost energy levels and health, but can also improve the following:

What happens during a treatment?
Initial consultations are longer than following ones as the practitioner will take a detailed history and discuss any other health concerns you may have. This is an ideal time to discuss possible treatment plans and make sure it is suitable for you.
During the treatment very fine disposable needles will be used to correct any imbalances in the body, supporting the body's health from within. Only very small needles are used on the face, where the focus is on problem areas such as wrinkles or acne scarring, for example. After the needles have been inserted you just relax for 20-30 minutes and let the acupuncture take effect.
The needles are then gently removed and a your face is soothed and toned with a relaxing massage (aided by a cool jade roller). Continue the rest of your day with a glow and a bounce in your step!

Does it hurt?
The needles are so fine that they cause little or no pain. If you do not like a particular point we can simply remove the needle.
Is it safe?
The needles we use are all sterile, single use (individually wrapped) and of a high quality. Please let us know if you have any medical conditions or are taking medication as this may affect our ability to treat you.
Very rarely the patient develops a tiny bruise which is not harmful, this is more likely in those who bruise easily.

Are there any other benefits to treatments?
Absolutely! Almost all patients notice huge improvements in general health, mood and energy levels. If you are suffering from any other health complaints we may be able to help with that at the same time.
How many treatments will I need?
As acupuncture is such a gentle (yet effective) therapy it is recommended that patients undergo a course of at least 10-12 treatments. However, if the face does not have very deep wrinkles then a course of 6 may be enough.
You can discuss your course of treatment with your practitioner, but it is suggested that for the first 6 treatments you come twice a week. This will ensure that the effect of the acupuncture does not wear off each week.
After completing a course of treatments you will probably find that one monthly treatment is more than enough to keep you looking fabulous!
